I am a printmaker both by trade and by spirit. It is what I have a BFA degree in, as well as is my passion.
I walk through the world with the lens of print, and derive great whimsy and joy through that lens.
My body of print work expresses being at odds with a world that doesn’t seem made for me, alienation, and the charm of the suburban bizarre.
My mirror diorama works are much better viewed in person, but hopefully they can be enjoyed in part through the images on this website.
Working with mirrors that reflect into each other allows me to experiment with creating depth and inserting an active, physical, and voyeuristic element to the viewer’s role. With the mirror dioramas, I strive for the immersion that can come from reading a story or having a dream. I use backwards text to force the viewer to peer behind the landscapes or visual noise to read distorted vignettes that are only readable in the reflection. Here, the physical print itself acts as the "matrix" while the ephemeral reflection is the "final print" itself.
...I also make works on paper!

It Blew My Mind
6 x 9 x 6 inch
screenprint on acrylic mirrors
2019
Transcription: It blew my mind to stand at the base of the Discovery space shuttle and feel so small. In space, the shuttle is infinitesimal—less than a blip. My heart was pounding with excitement, but I realized I was no longer sad that I can never be a pilot.
Gun it From the Entry Ramp

screenprint on acrylic mirrors, laser etched acrylic, LEDs, 9-volt battery
2019
Transcription: Gun it from the entry ramp to exit 29—it’s only about 3000 feet. That’s half the length of an airplane runway. It takes me eight and a half minutes to get home. Incidentally, that’s the amount of time it takes for a space shuttle to reach orbit.
